Hi,

I have had my bike all packaged up and need to sort a courier. Cheapest I can get is 30 quid for over night (UK to UK), which avoids citylink, as apparently they are too horrific for words.

Anyone know any other good site to search from/use?

I need it to be collected and delivered (I cant drop it off anywhere).

Thanks

Parcel2go are OK - they are consolidators so you can select which service you want from a number of providers. They will pick up from your home address and offer 24hr , 48hr or longer delivery options

Have used them for Ebay shipping in the past and have only had one problem with a PC that was damaged by Hermes in transit. Got the buyer to send me pics of damaged packing and PC and got a full refund of the value.

I've used Send it now before, they do pick up too and were pretty good on price I remember.

Just sent a bike. TNT courier it. £22.50 all in. Very very simple and no weighing needed (i think there's a 20kg limit)

Insurance will sting you. I had my bike sent to Germany for 30 quid. The insurance was twice as much!

Yes I forgot to add - make sure you state the full value of the item when you book the shipping. There will probably be a surcharge to insure whatever value you quote but it is false economy to undervalue your item just to save a couple of quid.

My experience with the PC shipping was that it cost me an extra £5 to insure it for £140 but I got the full value back when I claimed for damage
