Handlebar Sizes

I just picked up some cheap FSA bars, 44cm to fit to my Bianchi which had 42cm Deda's on.
The reason i have done this was when i got my Cervelo and a proper bike fit they told me i needed 44cm bars for that.
The Cervelo has some Carbon Bontrager bars fitted.

The Bianchi will be ridden during the winter months and i wanted it to feel more comfy and a bit closer to the Cervelo hence the purchase of the bars.
However i am not sure i have got the right size, they seem smaller...... I can't measure at the moment.

How do FSA, Deda and Bontrager size their bars?
Thanks
D

Deda size theirs on outside measurements, so your 42s should have been 40cm centres. I think FSA size on centres, so your new bars should be much wider.
  • Yes what ME-109 says above is correct, dont know about Bontrager. I ended buying a pair of Deda bars which were too small as I assumed they were measured centre to centre.
