Octalink Bottom Bracket - Spindle Length ?

Bit of a long story but I need to fit an octalink crankset taken from a 2011 Giant Talon (73mm BB shell width) onto my old Giant Terrago before selling it on (the Terrago has a 68mm shell width).
I need to get an ES25 octalink bottom bracket The question is which spindle length to get - they are available in both 118mm and 126mm spindle lengths on chainreaction ?
I can measure the old 73mm BB spindle length taken off the Talon - would it be safe to buy one 5mm shorter (in 68mm BB size) ?
Would really appreciate some advice so I get the correct one

No, Axle length depends on the crankset used - so you need to check the tech docs. BB size makes no difference anyway as that doesn't change the axle length.I don't do smileys.

Thanks,
So if I check the old BB spindle length (from the 73mm BB) then buy a new BB (68mm BB) with the same spindle length that will work ok then ?0 -
If you are using the same crankset, yes.I don't do smileys.

Thanks, I am using the same crankset - will check the crankset ref and check the tech doc to be sure.
Thanks for your help.0
