Need a new saddle, the lottery begins :-)

My trusty old specialized saddle http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/saddles/product/review-specialized-bicycles-rival-143-9626/ died last year and I replaced it with a Henge comp but we are not getting on very well.

I did all the measuring of sit bones to get the right size but I just can't get along with it. It feels like a unyielding plank of wood under my arse and over 2hours in the saddle is a bit of chore, with numbness around the inside of my thigh.

So I am considering changing it. Saddle choice always seems a bit of a lottery to me but the Charge saddles seem to be the right shape, and I like the price of spoon at £20 around the web at the moment is the scoop much better. Has anyone else who does not get along with newer specialized saddles found a good alternative ?

I have a Henge Comp 143 and hated it to begin with but after 50 or so miles I've either gotten used to it or my butt bones have toughened up. Charge Spoon would have been my alternative choice otherwise though, as they do seem to be universally loved. Still tempted to try one since they're only 20 notes.

Spoons on all my bikes. They just seem to work for a lot of people.

Another vote for the charge spoon saddle.

Recently bought one after my old Bontrager stock seat was rather worn and it's great comfortable after a couple of long xc rides home from work 15 mile or so and no pain or walking funny.

Give one try, if you don't get along or it's nt comfortable then you can sell it on etc.

Thanks for the reply's, it would seem that £20 on the spoon would be worth a try, no one tried the scoop yet ?

Also having a look at the Bontrager stuff, there are a couple of trek dealers near me so I could try them out.

I've just bought the spoon as well, a lot of people recommend it and for £20 you can't go wrong really.
