Bent as a Bull's Harris

Fell off my bike. Stupid stylee too: tried setting off up a steep slope - mis-clipped on first and then second attempt - inevitable embarrassing topple. Fortunately (in that respect only) I was miles from anywhere so no-one saw me. Unfortunately I was miles from anywhere as my saddle (Spesh Toupe) had been squished and sort of folded in two: the right rail had swivelled right over so, not only was the top nicely triangular but horribly off-centre too. On the plus side, the seat had flexed rather than cracked. I had about a 20-mile into the wind ride on the top of a Scottish hill to reach the lovely people at Tiso/Alpine bikes in Inverness who lent me tools and a vice to attempt to reshape the thing. I was successful enough for my Harris to thank me on the last 15-mile leg home. I think I've managed to persuade the saddle back into some sort of order. It would be a shame to lose it as I've had it longer than the V and it has been through many adventures with me and is on great terms with my backside.

    Ouch, poor bike!
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

I've slipped off flatties before (never ride flatties wearing hockey shoes) and had a crossbar to wedding veg impact

I have a chunk out of my shin from flatties, never again.

Clipping in on steep hill is a beach. Well with road shoes it is, mtb may vary.

I know - I overshot with the first prod at the pedal but was confident I'd get it second time - d'oh! It's ages since I last had a clipless moment

Believe me, you don't want shots of my Harris.

I did mean to take a pic of the saddle before adjusting it but forgot. I could post the pic I stopped in the first place to take but it's pretty dull. I can probably find the Garmin trace of me falling off...
