Hi,

plan to change out front hub bearings which seems simple enough and I managed to pop out bearings no probs.

It is a Hope hub and number on bearing is 6804rs.

But looking up online found these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ball-Bearing-32 ... B004FBKX6Q at ultra cheap.

Are they up to the job? Is the code just a sizing code or is it a quality code as well?

I was expecting to pay more so am suspicious.

Ta in advance.

The code is just for sizing. Quality can be hugely variable.

    Cheap: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/68042RS-aka-6 ... 0927198408

    Good: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/68042RS-aka-6 ... 1365316163

Up to you whether you'd rather change bearings more often or less often, but over time, it'll probably cost the same either way ;)

Ok. Interesting that your good ones are still cheaper than the Amazon one.

Gonna ask a couple more questions and hope you know the answers.
What does the 2RS mean as opposed to just RS.

And, the Wiggle ones I found coming in at £7.60 each with the code S6804 2RS. What does the s mean at the beginning and are they ultra good for the extra money or just a larger markup?

    Again, thanks in advance.

    Thanks freezing.

Had just found that very same page and worked it all out and was back here to let everyone that Google works, you just need to use it.

Again, thanks to all. Gonna do some bike maintenance ( satisfied warm glow inside )

I would go for SKF as a minimum, Koyo for slightly better quality or SKF stainless steel for the best quality.
