Alternative to Veloflex open tubulars

Hi,
I currently run Veloflex 25mm on Archetype rims with latex tubes.
I find them beautifully supple, great comfort and grip.
While I appreciate they are not going to last long, the last 2 sets of front have lasted about 600 miles each due to cuts.
I ride in a flinty part of the country (South Downs) and would like something of similar comfort but a bit tougher on the sidewall.
Is there such a thing?
Considering 28mm Michelin Pro4.
Thoughts?
