My wife has decided she wants a MTB however nothing serious just trail riding etc. so thought i would give her my bike and i would get a new one.
So all i really do is a bit of fitness riding and is 90% off road forestry / dirt track / very pot holed dirt roads.
Currently i have a Mongoose Tyax Super 2007.
So any suggestions on what to upgrade to and is it going to make any difference to me and if so what.
Or do i just get the wife a cheap bike to see how she goes?
Thanks

For £500 - £600 you should get a year old or so bike which originally sold for £1,000 to £1,200. Just do your research take your time and buy a good one when you see it. To give you an example my 2013 Carve Comp was £1,200 if you paid full retail but now second hand they are £500 - £600. It is a great bike for XC riding like fire roads, single track, trail centres and also copes well with more rugged riding. Just one example of many bikes you could choose from.0
