Just wondering if anyone can advise, I'm intend ending to get a jacket for when it comes to the colder months. I had found the below which sounds ideal and is in the right price bracket for me:
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/clothin ... ter-jacket

However they're out of stock and not many other places seem to stock them so was wondering if anyone else could advise any similar products within the price band or where else I might find this jacket.

Many thanks in advance.

I wouldn't describe Adidas as a mainstream manufacturer of cycle focused clothing so you may struggle but there are loads of other jackets which will do the same job, perhaps even better.

At this time of year it's all about scouring the web looking for deals. Winter kit will be reduced but will have been well picked over so availability, as you've found out, can be a bit hit and miss.

Site which do good discounts are quite commong but I'd start with:

    Pro-Bike Kit
    Merlin
    PlanetX
    Ribble

    plus the usual

    Chain Reaction
    Wiggle

    etc.

I would add that I think it's important to try stuff on. I've found that different brands have a different fit (no surprise!) and the same size from two different manufactures may be tighter under the arms, for example.

It's a soft shell jacket, which will be fine for cold winter days, but bear in mind it will not be so good for autumn days as soft shells are thick jackets, so you won't be able to take it off when you heat up, unless you are riding with panniers or a rack pack. I find layering up over cycle shirt, with a gilet and thin waterproof that can both roll up very small into stuff sacks best is for cycling on cold days.

i have a soft shell, but really it only gets used on very cold days, its just too warm otherwise. in that awkward period of not quite cold enough, i tend to layer up. long sleeve merino with arm warmers etc
