Hi all,
just a general question, I have a Boardman 650b (Hard Tail).
If i in the future want a FS, would all the gears, breaks and front forks and wheels all go onto a FS frame or when people buy FS Frame only, does it only take specific types of gears/breaks etc.
Understand different wheel sizes can make a difference but what about the other bits?
Thanks

You should be able to swap parts across but the new frame having suspension wouldn't be the issue, it would be a case of making sure the new frame has the right headtube/bottom bracket/seatpost etc there's also wheel axle type as well as sizeYT Wicked 160 ltd

Also worth checking front mech mount type / size."Arran, you are like the Tony Benn of smut. You have never diluted your depravity and always stand by your beliefs. You have my respect sir and your wife my pity"

You might need new chain depending on current set - up and new set- up, but you won't know whether you will untill you set the rest of the drivetrain up.
Might need a longergear cable
Also chain device (if you have one) mount
The main or most important things to check are
Head tube
Seat tube
Bottom bracket

Most FS frames are longer and have more convoluted routing, so brake hoses are normally too short.A Flock of Birds
