Hello,

I'm going to attempt to replace the bottom bracket on my bike, but I'm not sure what replacement I need to purchase.

The specs for the bike are:

http://media.gtbicycles.com/media/g/t/gtr_series_3.pdf

It just says 'sealed cartridge BB' so I'm not sure what to buy! I've taken the crank bolts off and it looks like a square tapered spindle. Can anyone offer me any more advice?

Thanks!

Or take it out it will have what it is written on it. Then order the same.

If you need the bike on the road in the meantime then put it back in.

FSA's own website is a mine of information, describing exactly which BB is required. Or not!

Quick google found this which claims it is a 103mm JIS:

    http://www.halfords.com/cycling/cycling ... s-chainset

Not 100% I would trust that, as 103mm is quite short (reasonably common on single speeds etc.), but it is possible for a compact as well. I trust the JIS bit as FSA themselves do give out that piece of information (not much else though!).

But, I think you would be best served whipping it out and seeing what it written on it.

On the assumption it is a 103mm, JIS, plenty of good options that you won't have to pay much for.

Worth pointing out that unless you have the correct BB tool, you will almost certainly not be able to remove it.
