Hi,

Looking to get my first full carbon road bike, and need some advice...

I had short-list of two:- either the Cannondale Synapse 5 2014 or the Trek Domane 4.3. Went to try both at Royle's in Wilmslow and preferred the Cannondale, then it went out of stock - probably running down for the 2015 models?

Then I found myself going into the Bike Rooms in Manchester. Big mistake. Seduced by Pinarello.

So would you wait for the Synapse 2014 to come back into stock? Wait for the 2015 models? Or spend a bit more and get a Pina Marvel, Rokh or £3k Dogma? I had assumed all the Dogma's were £8k+ Could just about stretch for the budget 2014 Dogma's. Priority is something that is comfy for long rides and handles well.

Thanks in advance....

I personally think you pay too much extra for a Pinarello, for not alot more performance. I would go with what you liked most to ride and even more, which looks good. If thats the Pinarello and you can afford it, then do it.

That's what I'm trying to get at. You pay twice as much for a Pinarello, but its not going to be twice as nice to ride - very simplistic I know. I think the Pina's look great, which is what lured me into spending more.

This is very true, especially as alot of these bikes are made in the same factory.
