Lightweight / thin unpadded bib tights

(Funny time to be thinking about this I admit, but I like planning ahead...)
I am after lightweight, thin bib tights to go over padded bib shorts - which for me would be the best combination for the vast majority of UK late autumn-winter-early spring. I have a pair of running tights that sort of do the job but they are not tight enough, and tend to get snagged, and slip down when wet.
Annoyingly DHB seem only to do an unpadded version of their warm tights (Vaeon Roubaix) and not the lightweight ones.
Which seems very silly to me, as fleecy Roubaix material over bib shorts is way too warm for any but the coldest days...

cos I like the extra layer over the waist / crown jewels / thighs - but the fleecy stuff is too much0 -
I came across these when search for bibs, and actually ended up ordering some Lusso bibs from CRC:

May be able to get them cheaper at Merlin or CRC.0 -
thanks for that - bit on the steep side for something with no insert, but need must perhaps ...
I have a suspicion that the reason these things don't exist is that the cycle clothing brands want people to buy their padded long bibs instead ....0 -
Have a look at running gear, probably the same kind of gear without padding.
I usually wear a pair of Ron Hill's on colder days, with 3/4 length shorts underneath.0 -

from the companies point of view it would probably be better for them if they sold the bib tights without a pad and then sold some undershorts as well, there'd be more margin that way.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

Yeah I have tried this too but do you not find they ride down your backside, specially on wet days?
I'm gonna start a cottage sweatshop making these sodding things.0 -
Bit less eye watering - older model but still good. http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php ... 33s57p1014

Thanks but 'Super roubaix' sounds pretty thick / warm to me. I have Roubaix padded tights and they are fine.
But in this case I just want lycra tights - no fleeciness.
Planet X might have something like that though by the looks of it.
Even the Lusso ones at £65 look hard to come by in Medium - turning into the quest for the bloody golden fleece this. :x0 -

They are actually lightweight and hence very comfortable when worn with a pair of padded shorts (they are designed to be worn this way). I have thicker pairs for very cold days, but from looking these will generally come with an integrated pad
Here is the info from their website:
Our new Bib Tights are perfect for riding all year round. Made from Super Roubaix: which has a brushed, fleece feel to the inside that makes sure everything is nice and warm, combined with durable Lycra outer to keep the wind off.
I've had these for a couple of years and as they are starting to get a little thin and I have a small hole I purchased another pair at the beginning of the summer as par of the ongoing sale. The first pair I purchased for around £35-40 and still think they were good value at that price!Simon0 -
OK gotcha, I'll give em a whirl.0
