Troy Lee A1 visor spares?

Hi all

Had a crash recently but the only damage was to the peak/visor of the helmet which is now pretty knackered, tried looking on CRC and TLD main website but none seem to stock a replacement. contacted TLD but no reply as of yet. was wondering if anyone knows of a universal peak/visor that I could put on in place?

No. I've just checked the box and there isn't a spare in there.

cheers just had a look but nearest stockist that might do a replacement is 30 miles away. also at £30 I wasn't expecting them to be so expensive. I got the full helmet for £70 from CRC

Yeah seems pretty steep for a visor... almost half the price of the lid!

Maybe give Troy Lee a few more days to respond as they may offer a free or cheaper replacement.

yea will do, was quite surprised they never had any, even on their own website seeing as its a mainstream helmet. could understand if they didn't do every colour but even if they did just a black visor replacement that would do.

It's not half the price of a helmet when you consider that the rrp is £149.99. Their downhill helmet spares are expensive and can be difficult to locate. One of the reasons why I wouldn't buy another one.

You'd be surprised at what a polite email can get you.

Plus for all I know they could have a crash replacement policy... but I'm not going to bother looking into their T&Cs as it's not my lid

You got it on a mega discount, so £30 isn't actually that expensive - considering most TLD kit is really pricey.
Also, bike shops can post things...

Troy Lee don't do crash replacements. They say that you should replace your helmet after a crash.

I heard back from TLD they said that they could send me a new visor, but when I said I live in the U.K they said that they don't/won't ship to anyone outside of the U.S.A so back to square one. Will try getting in contact with CRC and see if they can possibly suggest anything.

That's a bit of a poor show. It doesn't cost that much to ship stuff to the UK. Did you offer to pay shipping?

Fisher's are TLD's distributers; therefore, in theory any shop that has an account with them should be able to order you one.

I do agree that there pricey though.

It's kind of surprising that they sell replacement peaks for any helmets. All manufacturers tell you that you need a new helmet after any impact. Obviously we all ignore that or we would need a new helmet every week but selling replacement peaks goes against their own advice.

heard back from CRC they have been able to get a replacement visor from their supplier so they are shipping me out a new one but I have had to pay £30 for the new replacement.
