Rear Derailleur hanger for Fausto Coppi KSC Plane

As the title suggests my rear derailleur coming off the frame was a bit of a surprise as I set off on a ride. Inspection showed it hadn't worked loose but the frame hanger had given way instead.
A few days ago I wrote to the Masciaghi brothers as the manufacturers and separately to Sr Peligrini as the master builder of the time but neither have replied.
Would anyone have thoughts on who else I might use to fix the problem?

Is it a separate bolt on hanger? Or the actual frame that is broken? If the former, look here

Many thanks I wrote to both and both replied quickly. Andy at Gearchanger recognised it as compatible with a Madison item from the pictures I sent and unselfishly steered me in that direction, my LBS has it coming in within the next couple of days for £20.0

Always good practise to keep a spare hanger in the spares box0

Alas, it's turned into a bit more of a saga.
I sourced a Madison Dropout-90 on recommendation but the screw spacings are shorter so only one screw can be placed. I'm now in touch with Pilo to follow the route of having hangers made.
However, when re-fitting the mech for some of the photos I discovered that the 9 speed Record Ti mech had a cracked outer plate and when fitted (into the badly threaded and burred old hanger) it was right in the path of the wheel. Bu88er, hadn't expected this, although I'm thinking I was lucky not to have had a high speed accident over the bars.
My mind turned to buying either a new 9-speed Xenon or 10-speed Veloce, the latter forcing me into 10-speed cassette, front derailleur and new shifters.
A mate of mine re-directed me to NOS Centaur 9-speed derailleurs although I was then reading the Branford web-site which left me unclear about compatibility issues. If anyone can guide I would appreciate it.
Here's the bike showing the full groupset (link as it seems you now need to upgrade to view directly in Imageshack)

A 10 speed veloce rear mech won't need to affect the rest of your gear train - they are all much the same. But I wouldn't rush to replace a Record mech with a Xenon or modern Veloce. There's no shortage of low use mechs on Ebay and even Record ones can be had for the price of a new Veloce. High mileage ones are easy to spot - the Campagnolo lettering wears off the front edge of the mech, the adjuster screw tarnishes if it's been extensively used in wet conditions and the cage and plates get scuffed. Rule out mechs showing the above and it is pretty easy to find a lot of nice low mileag mechs of any spec. The NOS Centaurs would be fine (I'd be interested in one myself - to go on a 10 speed bike - possibly if you'd be so kind! )Faster than a tent.......0 -
I finally sorted the frame with new hanger in the past couple of weeks, also spotted that my shiny rebuilt CXP-30 rear wheel had spoke damage so will be back in contact with Paolo for that separately. I only rode it twice I think, ah well.
I'm still confused on the rear mechs from looking at eBay and other items out there plus trying to read previous threads so as not to repeat previously answered questions.
Am I right in thinking that the Record Ti 9 speed groupset is pre-2001 and so (without any update to the Ergo levers) it does require a pre-2001 RD to ensure correct pull ratio?
If so, I'll limit my searching to those RDs.
If a post-2001 RD will work okay then the choices are broader.
I guess I don't want to corrupt the groupset with either lever-internals upgrade or scrap the levers unnecessarily (i.e. new RD and levers) but also don't want to pay silly money for a 15 year-old RD. I don't know why but I find the legacy Campag gear harder to understand than Shimano.0 -
The Record Ti mechs are becoming the most desired as they suit retro-builds best - IME you can mix and match pre/post 2001 mechs will little trouble, so you could opt for a Chorus / Daytona / Centaur if wanting polished alloy. Earlier 10 speed mechs also work with 9 IME - fitting Campagnolo to my CX bike meant I was used to frequent repairs and raiding my spares/other bikes.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
