My old steel bike with some new plastic wheels on it....

Have been umming and ahhing about trying some aero wheels for a while now. Considered Hed Jet+ 4s or Shimano Dura Ace C50 clinchers as I had read numerous scare stories on the internet of braking on carbon rims, rim failures, tyre blowouts etc. and wanted to play it safe with a full alloy rim.

However, came across a fantastic deal on the internet and decided to bite the bullet and go for full carbon clinchers.

Plain black 25mm Michelin Pro 4 SCs on the way. Stuck on some old tyres that I had lying around so that I can get out for a quick spin this evening - ride report to follow...

Wow, you must have really disproportionate legs.

    Don't understand?
  • Have you considered buying a bike with a taller headtube and/ or fitting more spacers under the stem?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

There is a lot of seatpost showing with a stem flipped upward. Normally this would indicate a frame that is too small but your stem doesn't look particularly long.

Have you got a bad back?

Thanks for the concern guys and my back is fine! It's a 57cm frame with a 100mm stem and my seat is 80cm above the bottom bracket.

I've had a bike fit and most importantly it's comfy for me - even though it may look odd to some!

My saddle is 81cm from the BB and I'm on a 60cm frame with a 120mm stem. I have very long legs for my height, so yours must be even longer (relatively)!

Read what? The bit where he says it is comfortable for him how it is set up?

Try not to be a douchebag, douchebag.

I never told him to change his position, I was only pointing out that his body seemed to be unusually proportioned and that his frame size may be too small.

    Don't be a tw*t, smat.

  • Anyway...nice bike.

Beautiful that Enigma red colour. I'm just waiting for my plastic wheels to arrive that will adorn my Enigma. Like you I was toying with staying with an alu braking surface but have opted for full plastic and some 'expensive' (well relatively) brake pads. I hope they work
