Cherbourg/Paris - Switzerland - Italy

I was thinking of doing an expedition from Cherbourg, France down to somewhere in the South of Italy, cycling over the Alps and enjoying putting in 120 - 180k a day (depending on terrain), staying in reasonable accommodation or camping, but travelling light on my cherished road bike.
Starting in Cherbourg on the start of August (anywhere from the 2nd-5th, hitting Paris 2 days later reaching Italian soil by going through Switzerland and then running down through Italy...would anyone like to share (even part of) the way as the other lad who said he'd go can't commit due to injury. And the road can be a lonely place...

You need to put more info out there IMO.
Age, gender, fitness level, type of bike? How light is light etc? Early/late riser? Cook or eat out? Takes a lot to get on with somebody 24/7 and forearmed is forewarned. Have you tries the Crazyguy website?Nothing to prove. http://adenough1.blogspot.co.uk/0 -
Thanks BigJim, hadn't checked crazyguy!
A little bit about me:
Age: 22M
Type of Bike: Specialized Allez E5 w/ Fulcum 7s
Fitness lvl: Now that's a difficult one to assess...I'd commute 40k a day - mostly on flat/rolling terrain, would enjoy 100-180k at the weekend if there were a few mates going, at 180k I'd feel like I've actually done something with my day, a hundred would probably leave me wanting more. Although being a big guy (as in height, as opposed to girth) after a day of climbing, my legs are happy to sleep
Light: tent, sleeping bag, 3 sets of kit (bib + jersey), 2 sets of casual clothes - TBH I haven't finalised my list but it'd come down to 20L bag - excluding the tent + sleeping bag
Eat out mostly - though not expensively. e.g. store bought muesli for breakfast, or bread from a boulangerie
Re accommodation, I don't mind camping wild, in a campsite, or spending a night in a hostel.
Have I gone touring before?
Nope, but I like a challenge and have spent hours on the theory (internet forums, blogs and vlogs :P )
now just to put it into practice.
I'm quite an easy going person and get on well with pretty much everyone - any questions, throw them down here or PM me if you wish. Thanks!
PS I realise that asking anyone to commit to this plan is a bit of a stretch, but I've pretty much given up hope on finding people in my locality/circle of friends.0
