Flat saddles

Right,

I think it is time to try a different saddle shape after doing 110km on Sunday and not being entirely happy with the WTB Rocket V that currently adorns my Kinesis. I'd like to try a flat saddle and I remember a cheap Selle Italia X1 being unoticeable when demoing a Tifosi bike this time last year. This is probably a good sign!

Anyone have any ideas of any others I should look out for? Here's a link to the Selle Italia page to give a good representation of its shape:

Thank you.

As mentioned, the toupe is a top candidate. Fizik Antares and selle italia flite gel (with or without cutout) are also pretty good.

I have the X1 and it's currently very battered so interested in any suggestions that are similar in shape. (Asked on here before but got nothing really)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The Antares may be worth a shout and I'll look at some of the Specialized ones tonight in Evans when I am hopefully collecting my new helmet. My gut tells me despite them saying it is ready for collection it will not be in the store, but that is another matter!

How have you found the X1 over long rides James?

The SLR looks sensational but sitbone width would need to be checked as they are quite narrow

I've a brand new Antares I took off my new Canyon bike which I intend to sell (white with black bits at the back). Nice looking saddle but the shape is too flat for me. I swapped in my existing Specialised Romin Evo Expert as soon as I'd done a test ride.
Let me know if you're interested

Never had a problem with it at all. Longest I've ridden is 110miles.

Thanks guys. Evans didn't have any when I popped in last. I may just get the cheap X1 or Nekkar just to see what it is like. Minimal risk really.

Any others I should check out?

Complete opposite. Iv currently rode about 200 miles on an Antares that came with my Canyon. Im going to persist for another few longer rides this weekend but I find it really uncomfortable !!!

Mine is in Black and red (see Canyon Aeroad 8.0) and am likely to be selling come Monday so the OP might want to keep an eye on Classifieds if interested

Quick update on this from me, as I have been persisting with the WTB since opening the thread. However, I spotted a Selle Italia SLS Kit Carbonio Saddle on Ribble for £27 this afternoon so thought I would give it a shot, as it appears to be at a big discount. I hope the shape does the job!

I'd get that anyway, then get a selle Italia idmatch done. We've found it really accurate
