Hi all,

Short 5 minute video from our ride Sunday at Ladybower. Footage is the "Les Arcs" descent which is quite literally a classic, camera angle does not do it justice. Steep, steep, steep with some quality singletrack and views on the way.

Cheers

Looks like a nice trail. Any idea of the start and end grid refs?

Not marked on any map,VERY cheeky so can't really be called a classic,we've ridden it for years but it's known locally as "The telegraph" due to a dirty great telegraph pole support wire crossing the trail 8)
Rumour has it that entire lump it crosses is going to be declared an S.S.S.I. so that'll be that

Say what, and what does that mean?

    Sight of Specific Scientific Interest.
Once a area gets that status it then becomes illegal and prosecutable under law if you're caught doing anything but walking on it :?
There are sites where BWs run through S.S.S.I.s,Pindale quarries near Hope being an example, where you can ride legally but only on the BW.(it used to be a Moto-X playground off the BW).
This won't be the case here though as there's(technically) no access for bikes as there's no right of way. It's not marked on a map so it's neither a FP nor BW but walkers have a right of way as they have the Right to roam(CRoW act 2000).
As it is now it's just trespass(not illegal)as there's no Bridleway so you can't technically ride it but the land owner has catch you and prosecute as is the case on all footpaths/sheeptracks etc.
How they Police it is another matter

There's over 4500 S.S.S.I.s in the UK now. It's sort of like a mini-World heritage site. It's (allegedly) to do with the Geology and habitat for nature.

It will be a crying shame if that happens as its definitely one of my favorite Peaks descents and less busy (walkers) than Cave Dale etc.
