Stages power meter and Giant TCR Advanced Di2
Hi does anyone have a stages ultegra 6800 170mm power meter fitted to a TCR Advanced (med 2013) with Di2 installed? Only asking as on the stages site it says there could be problems installing the crank arm to frames with an external battery mounted below the left chain stay and it mentions the Giant TCR advanced.
I don't have the power meter just yet or Di2 but would like to upgrade to Di2 next year and just wanted to check to see if there will be any issues and if there was a work around concerning the battery location.
Thanks for reading.

Closest I can get - I have stages (DA 9000) on a Giant Propel with external battery mount on seat stays.
Works perfectly.0 -
Do Stages say why there are issues?Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S

I think it is to do with the clearance required as the power meter bulges out on the inside of the crank arm.0

Yup - on my Scott Foil there's about 15mm of clearance between the PM unit (on a 105 crank) and the stay. I think the problem you might have is that two people have decided to use the same piece of real estate. Could you not sidestep the issue by fitting an internal battery?ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -
I don't think the aero seat post on the TCR will accomodate an internal battery.0

It's probably worth checkingROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

My SLR battery sits on the left chain stay. Whether the battery is below or above the arm, it doesn't project out any further than the arm itself, so this isn't a space problem.
Having something streaming out Bluetooth radio waves, swinging very close to the Di2 brains in the battery pack, may be more of a problem.
I've just found that stages don't make an SRAM Force BB30 crank. Ho hum.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S

The sensor fouls on the battery clip as the crank turns so it won't work with the DI2.

Did you ever resolve this? I was just about to pull the trigger on a Stages and then realised this may be an issue.
I have a 2013 TCR with Di2 and can imagine it may be a very tight squeeze due to the way the battery doesn't really sit square with the seat stay0
