canyon headset alternatives

The steering on my canyon slx as become quite stiff, I don't want to be waiting weeks for a replacement or spare parts to come from Germany. So is there a different headset I can use to fit the 11/4" fork?

    have you tried removing the bearings for a clean and grease?

    otherwise you should be able to identify the bearings and buy some, they will be a standard size
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

    I've not tried that because I haven't a clue when it comes to bike mechanics. The other reason I was looking for an alternative was to lower the front end.
