This is the new Tarmac. (Some people think of it as the SL5). Not ridden it yet but just about to!

Very nice, I do like Tarmac's. I'd be very interested to know what you think of the wheels !

Nice, especially the cockpit, really want a set of those bars myself, but always seem to be struggling to find them in stock. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on them and do you think the stem would accommodate the size if a 1000 or mio 505.

I've used the bars on another bike and they are great. Really comfy and superb for riding uphill (hands on the tops). Nice shape at the hoods too which is different from a standard bar.. Slightly flex due to shape but they soak up more road vibration.

As for the stem and Garmin mount, it will accommodate any size unit.

    Very nice indeed.

What frame size is it ? Am wondering if Specialized have managed to improve the look of bigger frames with this model....

    It's a 54 - which is actually quite small.

Absolutely superb. I thought they might be a bit sluggish at 1600g, but found them quite nimble. I've raced the tubular version for a few years and these are a great training/cheap racing wheel.

Just taken it for it's first ride. It's a superb bike. Really responds well and climbs much better than the Venge. Feels a bit small then the Venge (at same frame size). Might need to swap out the stem for a longer one on this bike.

Really pleased with this and looking forward to some great rides ahead!

First Dibs on the stem LOL - I've got the same tape on both of my bikes, feels great, looks great and seem to look new for ages.

I am thinking of purchasing a Tarmac SL4 but at 5' 10" I am at a size that could ride a 54 or a 56. I have two other bikes a 55 Bianchi and a 56 Allez, both are a comfortable size for me. Could I ask how tall you are as you are riding a 54 Tarmac ?

    5-11 and it's a 54. But could equally ride a 56. I prefer a smaller frame.

    I'm 5'10" and my S-Works SL4 is a 54, but then I only have 30" inside leg.

    Perfect fit for me.

Hi Pokerface, I was wondering what size seat post you have? I've just taken delivery of my frame and the seat post looks tiny and will probably need replacing or a swap. Though I am running a 52 frame being 2 inches shorter than you and wanting something small and taunt.

    Thanks in advance

Lovely bike. Don't know if you've ridden both but if you have, how does it compare with an S-Works SL4? Was considering an upgrade but didn't know if it was worth the expenditure. Would be interested in the honest opinion of anyone who's ridden both.

All the best and enjoy the ride.

All I can tell you is it's a long post. Has to be as the majority of it sticks out of the frame!

Nope. Not ridden he SL4, just the Venge. It's livelier than the Venge.

Same height and I ride a 56 - same geometry as the Allez (of the same year). I could probably ride a 54 ... but the 56 is comfortable so I'll stick with it :)
