RAL tech wheel covers - experiences?

Anyone had any dealings / success with problems being resolved?

I bought some wheel covers which do not fit the frame. Nothing on the website about the width of the covers not fitting certain frames - and the frame is more than wide enough to take wide rim disc wheels such as the HED Plus so nothing unusual about the frame rear dropouts width. I've been trying to get a reply on how the issue can be resolved since raising to them several weeks ago.

Since they offer an option for frames with low clearance and the wheel covers are custom made so can't be sold on I don't see it going well for you.

    What frame is it?

But it's not a 'close fitting' frame. The frame takes a HED plus disc which is lenticular and as wide as they come and with bags of room either side. It's a 2014 e-114.

...and being ignored is crap service whichever way you at it.

Have a look at this thread on the time trial forum, the poster 11sprocket on there is RALtech.

Ah well that may be why. if that's the case then maybe I'm slowly making my way up the backlog list. I do have a heart and can be patient.

I sold them in the end for quite a loss. Not too happy with the fact that they scratched the buggary out of a pretty new Reynolds Forty Six hub either but you live and learn.

I bought one for my stealth this year. Clearance was definitely mentioned somewhere as the Stealth needed a different cover as the chainstays come in close. Didnt you have to specify what frane it was ?

Personally I think its a great product and worked well for me at a fraction of the price of a disc wheel.

No at no point was I asked regarding the frame. I'm sure many have gotten on well with them though as a poster asked for an update I shared my experiences. Shortcomings certainly weren't on my part. Anyway happy with my HED disc though admittedly the wallet is some what lighter!

It does mention the discs are available in different shapes to fit different frames on this page. That's probably why I specified the frame I had and why it worked. Maybe you hadn't read that bit ?

Yeah, I spoke to him on the phone and we discussed my frame. Perfect fit.

Probably, maybe, who knows. And having to finish making the discs by sanding them down to even fit the hub was no doubt my fault too. As I said, I'm sure many have had great experiences. I didn't. No biggie, move on.
