Shimano BB9000 drag
Just installed this with a 6800 crankset, and even before inserting the preload screw I noticed that there's significant drag on the pedals.
Im coming from a SRAM and an FSA chainset both with ceramic BBs.
Will the bearings loosen given a bit of use as theyre freshly packed with grease? Or do Shimano BBs just drag a lot?
Given a quick flick of the wrist without the chain installed i get 1.5 - 2 crank revolutions. My others would have spun round 4 - 5 times.
Thanks.

In my experience with Shimano HT2 and press-fit BBs that's normal. They do loosen up a bit but there's always some drag, presumably from the seals, which I think is a good thing.
I'm not a good enough cyclist for the extra drag to worry me.0 -
It should spin a bit more freely once you've done a few hundred miles on it and the grease becomes thinner.0
