I'm expecting a bit of ridicule for this but if you don't ask…
When i'm out riding some of the tracks i use can get a bit overgrown with nettles and my lower legs get stuck to bits sometimes i look like i've had a game of football with a wasps nest. Speed doesn't help is there any thing like a barrier cream i could use? ( and no i'm not wearing tights, stockings and suspenders or legging before anyone suggests it.)Thanks.

Get down the trails with a petrol strimmer, just wear Hi Viz and no one bats an eye!

Just ride through it and don't worry about it. Once you get used to it it ain't that bad. I've just come in from a ride just like you describe and I look as if I've been self harming. Stung a bit at the time, just itchy now.

MTFU it's all part of mountain biking, got stung loads today riding through nettles at shoulder height, it was a relief when the rain came, it seemed less painful.

I find the best treatment for nettle stings is to get home, run a nice warm foam bath and soak in the hot water to the soothing sounds of Kenny G.

I quite enjoy the light tingling of a good nettle sting!

MTFU, wait till the Autumn brambles, then you have something to moan about!

watch the trail ahead and adjust pedalling to keep each/both feet at the best height as for any other trail feature.

Indeed. Being in Canada I guess it should be a buble bath for sure!

We seem not to have an abundance of nettles in BC which is a nice change of pace from the UK. But a nice tingle from stingers at the end of a ride didn't do me any harm. Badges of honour and all that jazz.

You could always wear Football Socks, which are light, protect your dainty legs from Nettle stings and wick any sweat away. Plus if you wear em during the Winter months your legs don't get covered in mud, just simply peel them off after your ride and chuck em in the washer. They come in any colour you want to match your existing gear. What more could you ask for?
