Hey. I am in the market for a new frameset, partly because I feel like my Giant SCR is a size too big, and I would like something a litle newer, and racier, not with such a long reach as my Giant. My budget is max 500 euros, or 400 quid.

Does anyone have experience of the Canyon Roadlite?

It ticks the correct boxes. HTII ready, light, favourable geometry and good VFM. I'm less crazy about the colour, but that's minor.

I still really like Giant (TCR SL alu frame), and for a couple of hundred Euros more, I could have a full bike, but crappy components. But an excellent frame. I could sell the components, but would have to convert to HTII.

Looks great, but the effective top tube length kills the deal for me. 57cm on a ML, 55.5 on the M. However the M is recommended for people up to 176cm tall.

I'm not a fan of Planet X frames. The Dolan Etape looks decent, but the geometry doesn't suit. Does anyone know of anything similar? I think I would prefer to just get the F&F, seeing as I have decent components already. Second hand would be ok, but weeks of keeping an eye on the classifieds and Ebay has proven to be a waste of time.

Cheers

The Roadlite is a cracking frame. I'm very happy with mine. If you could scrabble together another £160 I'd seriously consider the Ultiate AL SLX. Excellent long term frame.
