Superstar IO chain rings

I just ordered one, having done lots of searching and not finding anyones impressions... Hopefully not too stupid of me.

they will work the same as all the other N/W rings I would imagine more expensive than on-one but cheaper than others. I got my RF one for £26 posted form the US but they currently don't have 30t variant so I bought Lewis a RF one. no idea on the quality though as I've never seen one. UK made if thats your thing

depends mine took 3 weeks( within the delivery time he states) others have taken a week - mine was help up in customs for a while in canada. if you don't mind the wait it saves a few pounds over buying it here.

No, im keeping a full chain device on the Scalp.
I'm going to a single ring set up on the Mega. 34t front 11-36 rear and a zee freeride mech.

on-one are up to £25 now - check on singletrack for people that have one.

just buy the superstar one in bright pink and be done with it

I ordered my superstar one yesterday, standard shipping, dispatched 15 mins later and arrived this morning. Had free haribo and stickers too!

Cheers for the eBay link. Just ordered a 32t (for the 'hopper) and with a £10 eBay voucher they nicely sent me total cost came to $27.80 USD - about £17 inc. postage! Bargain!

I got a Superstar IO ring. It works and is cheap.

I have a Blackspire monoveloce, it has the same tooth profile as the Sram rings with longer, squarer teeth and asymmetric curves on the teeth. Whether this works better than the RF or SS ones I don't know....

I got one of those too - seems good but have nothing to compare it to!

How's the anodizing on the Superstar rings? I tend to find some of their products look like they've been wrapped in coloured tin-foil.

Mines been fine anodizing still intact and good quality finish.

My anodising has disappeared after ~60 miles, but given that the chain covers the teeth who cares?

Half installed last night, quality looks good, didn't realise I needed "narrow" chain ring bolts.

So currently single speed, with a big chain ring as a bash guard narrow chain ring bolts on their way.

Really want to try it out in the hills, now its fitted I have found myself worring if I am fit enough. :roll:

The anodising is going to come off the teeth on any chain ring

I bought a 32T ring and a bash guard from Superstar around 2 months ago.
Fitted them to XT cranks and ran them with an XT clutch rear mech.
Rode a week in the Portes du Soliel and didn't lose the chain once... probably done around 5-600 miles with the setup and I'm very impressed. Wondering why I ever ran a front deraileur for all these years!!!!!
