What is the torque setting for a dog collar on an Alsatian?

Thank you.

I use 5nm with a little carbon paste. On on aluminium bar the manufacturer specified 7nm. Neither the bike manufacturer or the bar manufacturer give a number for carbon bars.

5nm is not very tight, but they don't move unless you really push them with two hands. I quite like that. I can adjust them easily!

Remember that you want them tight enough to stay in place when riding but loose enough so that if you stack it they move and don't break/do your bar in by passing the load on from the shifter to the bar.

I have the instructions for some 105 levers here that say 6-8Nm (bar material not specified). I belive it is the same for their other models too. I just do them up until they don't move anymore, which usually ends up a bit less than 6Nm.

Tighten until you hear a crack and then loosen by one quarter turn.

I tend to tighten until I round off the allen bolt.

    That's usually tight enough.

(Although with Torx bolts I have to get out my 50cm lever, as they're much harder to round off).
