I have been given advise that my ideal "reach " is around 385mm , how do I now know what size bike to ride !
How do you transfer the reach measurment to the bike size ?
I am looking at a bike with a 540 top tube and 110mm stem this feels a little streched ,is it possible to calculate if a 90mm stem would fit ?
I know what some answers may be ,try a 90 and see !! Ok but Iam interested to know about this reach thing.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
regards

Try an online bike fit calculator like Competitive Cyclist - it is based on 'averages' but will get you in the 'ball park' and will calculate dimensions like stack and reach. Likewise, you will find these dimensions on many maker's technical information. A decent shop will also provide a bike fit/test ride and advise you on set-up - often the eye of an experienced fitter is far better than a nominal dimension like reach.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
