Tyre size and Wheel

daft question i know but wanted to check :)

need a new rear tyre, tyre size and rim state 26 x 1.95

so am i restricted to 1.95 tyres?

    cheers dad lol - care to expand? what sizes either side of the 1.95 can i go?

    Depends on the size of the rim and the clearance on the bike. 1.95 is the tyre presumably, not the rim
    But probably between about 26x1.25 and 26x2.25 or 2.35

    thanks bud. might take the wheel into my LBS so they can advise.

    front caliper went on piece of p1ss, rear now :)

    You can measure it - the width (from inside edges.) But if you want wider 2.1 will be fine, and 2.25 would probably be fine on the front, it's normally the back where you have clearance problems. Any wider and I would measure carefully first.
