So if i have a frame that states max travel 100mm, could I use any fork that has the same axle-to-crown length because I see different 100mm-travel forks have different a-to-c lengths?

Any help appreciated as I'm getting confused about this

Ta!

Ha ha . Welcome to legal nonsense land. You have got it just right. Despite the fact that its the a2c that counts not the travel, the warranty is still based on fork travel not a2c. In answer to your question - 100mm forks will all be fine no matter the a2c (assuming you don't find some crazy 1990s 100mm triple clamps or similar).

yip it's a stupid thing - my bike came with 150mm fox 32 talas but the 150 pikes have a greater A2C length but I'm fine because the warranty says keep the travel the same. 520 v 535

I guess if you have the same a2c but more travel then the front end will be lower at full travel. Maybe they are also concerned about the effects on handling and possibly stresses or even clearance at full travel.
