To please all the white bar tape haters (!) here's the bike with new Fizik Superlight BLACK tape.

Quite nice, it has a kind of velour finish whilst the white was slick.

Also some shots of a) much neater treatment of the in frame cabling, and b) found a little bung in the packaging which I can only assume belongs in the seat post bolt!

  • Question, if I may, regarding your gear cabling; have you crossed them in the downtube and if so, how did you manage this? The trusty magnet method or is there an easier way? I really need to re-do mine!

Yes, they are crossed. Rear shifter goes in on the left hand side.

No more difficult than not crossing really - using the guide tubes the cables pop out at the bottom bracket, but the hole is big enough down there that you don't even need guide tubes really. Just a Maglite and some needle nose pliers maybe.

The only place you do is for the chainstay part of the rear derailleur cable as it's a much smaller section.

I've done it about 8 times now, so it's getting quicker!
  • I just ran mine right/right & left/left as I didn't have time to sit down and change it! Job for the weekend coming up...

Can't really see that it makes a huge difference.....stops them rattling perhaps?

Better cable entry into the down tube is the main one I believe resulting in less stiction.

I just built up mine. Stealth version: viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12975448

I haven't put my super-light race wheel on yet and weighed it. Also, did yours come with the little stopper for the seat post clamp bolt hole? I don't appear to have one.

Looks good - can't get that colour in France.

    Is it a 54?

Found the little bung in with the cables, etc.

I have no idea what's going on here.

    Yes, a 54.

I bought just the frame so there were no cables, etc. Although I may have to look around again just in case.

Me too, frame only. When I say cables, I mean all the grommets, cable ends, etc.
