Hi, first time on this forum.

I am from Southern California but now living in Denmark. I have been MTB riding since the 80s (fun only) and am about to buy a new bike. Previously I had a 2004 Specialized Stumpjumper full suspension before that a 1994 Diambondback Apex rigid. So now it's been another 10 years and everything has changed again (29er/650B). I am in the market for a hardtail because denmark is mostly flat and and I'll also be using this bike alot on bike paths and dirt roads along with some single track in the forests. Also I am 180 cm (5' 10") tall 80 kg (176 lbs) and 41 years old.

I am looking at both the 2014 Cube Acid 29 http://www.cube.eu/uk/bikes/mtb-hardtail/acid/acid-29-grey-white/ and the 2014 Cube LTD 29 http://www.cube.eu/uk/bikes/mtb-hardtail/ltd/ltd-29-black-white/

There are only 2 major diferences I can see or that I am concerened with, the Fork on the LTD is better but both seem very satisfactory for my riding style ... and the frame build and geometry, notice how close the rear tire is to the frame on the LTD.

Now for my questions:
Which frame is more durable? Which geometry is better for 50/50 road/trail? Is the Reba fork over the Recon a big deal? Should I also be looking at 650B (27.5") bikes? My last bike being FS should I consider FS?

I only buy a bike every 10 years and this may be my last MTB purchase so I want to make it the best choice for a good all round bike for commuting and fun that will last and be comfortable and low maintenace.
