There is an ideal spot for that but it's not the easiest to find! Near the top of Endo, in the flatish single track there's a small table, followed by a similar double then a hip. They're fairly small and it's quiet enough to session for a while.
There are others but they either get really busy, have badly worn lips or are a bit more technical.

@welshkev I hate those new endings. It's like they have built a 4x track on the end of a downhill track. They are so much better on a xc or jump bike than a dh bike. The new one on mr rooty is the worst, that first berm is all wrong and when I rode it the road gap lip was badly worn already. The first step down and table are ok but it all felt like a bit of an anticlimax after the really tech, off camber corners above.

Yeah I can understand that. I did find it hard to get the right line for the road gap after the jump on me rooty, it didn't seem to point you in the right direction on landing. My mate watched the last mini dh there and he said most riders were just cutting the corner and missing the road gap out

Hi, sorry to but in on this thread. Most of you who have replied to the OP must be regular riders of the FOD.
Please could anybody let me know if there are any small table top jumps on any of the runs, by small i mean about 3' run in and out and about 6'- 8' table as i would like to practice my jumping technique.
Also, earlier in the thread there was a drop off, what run is that on and are there some smaller ones to practice on.
I wont be able to reply tonight as i'm out so would like to thank anyone who replies in advance.
    Cheers for any help.
1/4 into the red xc loop there are about 4 or 5 tabletops about that size which are good fun and easily repeatable

I was one of them! Much faster if you could make it stick. It's not a straight line and if you get on the loose gravel to the outside then you're screwed.
On Saturday the gap was easy to clear but because the track was so new (too new to race I think) the lip of the take off wore down really badly. Very few people cleared it in their second race run.
That first berm is like hitting a wall, the entry is all wrong. Watching the elite's (both of them!) they were bottoming their suspension as soon as they hit the berm.

    Thanks Cqc and RockmonkeySc,
Hopefully be up there late tomorrow afternoon. I've not ridden the new freeminers trail yet so will have a play in there first then go up to Endo to see if i can find the table and gaps.
    Cheers for info.

The jumps RM is on about are not far from the fireroad at the bottom. When you finish the free miners, stay on the fireroad, go straight on through the wooden gate (which was open tonight) and look for the end of endo and push up it - iirc it's the 2nd track along

    Cheers Welsh Kev,
Rockmonkey Sc mentioned the jumps are near the top of endo, do you think i still will be better off pushing up from the free miners or riding up the push up track?

The ones good for learning on and sessioning are near the start of Endo.

    Cheers RockmonkeySc,
Are the jumps at the start of endo better for learning than the ones on the free miners?

Try both and see what you prefer.

I don't know the ones on freeminers but I expect that it will be a lot busier there.

ah apologies, I thought you meant the ones when you come down the hill towards them at the end

    Thanks for your help.
I went to the free miners trail to start with and found a set of 5 table tops which was good fun. Although the second one was more of a hip jump which i struggled with. I was getting some small air most of the time but i rolled over the hip jump as i don't know the correct technique.
After that i went to find endo, i rode right to the top of the push up track and found i had gone to far so had to ride a small section to get to endo.
I rode down there but could only find the large table near the bottom before it went into the berm and roller section. I then rode back up and went down ski run as i knew there was a small table followed by the longer one.I then saw to the left there was a new table and had a play on that. Still not got it mastered but i enjoyed the afternoon.
    Cheers

Those tables at the bottom of Ski Run are really worn. No one jumps the first, it's faster to roll it to the left and then you still really need to boost the table. No braking for the berms and you have the speed to clear the road gap, just look out for the sharks teeth like rocks on the landing.

That's the problem, i can barely jump small table tops let alone boost them. Much more practice needed.
    Cheers for previous help.

Jumps can take a bit of technique, without that you're going to struggle to clear anything without a huge amount of speed.
Get yourself a lesson with Pro Ride Guides at FoD, if you can get Ben Deakin to teach you he will have you flying over them in no time.

That's exactly what i need. I did look on the pro ride guides website previously but July was the last time for an airtime course and i couldn't make that but i have just looked and they have now got new dates for aug, sept, oct and nov so i shall get myself onto one of them. I have had a days coaching with Ben Deakin before at UK bike park, general trail riding, like you said he is very good.

Hiya, went back to FOD today and did all the DH runs, got to say my favourite is ski run because I can hit it the fastest on my trail bike.out of interest Which is your favorite run and why?

I like Ski Run. It's just scary fast with technical drops to flat and a ropey old road gap to finish!
I hope they don't ruin it by building a bmx track on the end of it.
Since I was shown some sneaky lines the middle section with the drops is properly fast.
I also like Corkscrew. Another flat out track where speed is mainly limited by bravery.

Yeah I hate the endings to endo and Mr rooty ; completely the opposite the the rest of the track.

It's like you have suddenly ridden on to a completely different track. It suddenly goes from rough and technical to smooth and flowing. I wouldn't mind so much if it was full length tracks like those endings but with bigger jumps.
