Afternoon all

I was seriously considering buying an Operator

Hell of a crash. Maybe even a Demo would be mashed after that.

Helluva crash, that would probably have killed any frame.

There have been a few Operators which have gone like that. To be fair though that crash would have killed the frame or forks on most bikes. A mate had a similar crash on a Karpiel Disco Volante and it deformed the head tube so badly thar the headset popped out!
Demos have their weaknesses as well, usually the FSR link or they can snap shocks (usually only CCDB's). I can't think of any downhill bikes which don't have a well known weakness.

    Orange 322

Top shock mount pivot holes become elongated. Same weakness as the Nukeproof Scalp.

They crack. There are few downhill bikes that don't. Only one I can think of that doesn't have cracking problems is the iron horse sunday, but they develop silly amounts of linkage play instead.

    Sundays break chain stays.
Intense M6's are best because they ride better once the weld in front of the shock mount has cracked! My mates M6 has had a four in crack either side of tge frame for about three or four years now.

Frame bent just were I would have expected it to.

Trying to make a poor sus design work means they have needed to compromise the strength of the frame while trying to make it as cheap as possible.

This is the pic that made me change my mind about the 2011 Operator frame
