Specs look decent too

The Merida beats it everywhere if you ask me; Pike, SRAM X0 1x11, XT brakes with 203mm front rotor, Reverb, Hans Damph tyres, geo looks good on paper...looks better too IMO

Is the Orange that much of a dog of a bike?
I can do decent upgrades on the forks and a reverb post with the credit left

I do like the saracen but the brakes and gears are a tad Kak

It's the frame thats the worst bit on the Orange. The rear suspension design causes kick back through the pedals. The top shock mounts are weak and the frame rattles like a b*tard

Personally I would discount the Lappierre for its rubbish fork and frame made of cheese.
