I was originally going to go with the Rockrider 520 http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-520-mountain-bike-id_8293188.html
But now looking at the Rockrider 540 http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-540-mountain-bike-id_8293149.html
The 540 looks marginally a higher spec but is it £110 worth??

Stick with the 5200

spec on the 540 is better spec'd in terms of drive train but its only 100g lighter than the 520. You could buy the 520 and upgrade a few items and get a lighter bike with the extra £110. then just replace items as they wear out0

Depends how far you're prepared to go. An extra £70 on top of the 540 gets you the 8.1 which is a considerably better bike!! Obviously way over your original budget, but a good long term investment and will save 'upgrade' costs in the future if you really get the bug.0
