Sadly the Synapse is no more after the frame being damaged near the BB - chain stay join.

Replaced with this beauty. Bought as the 105 version, stripped and re-built with my favourite parts

Cervelo R3 in 54cm size
Ultegra 6800 11 speed groupset
Mavis Ksyrium Elite with 25mm GP4000s
Chainset - 50/39
Cassette - 11-25
Stem - 3T ARX PRO 120mm
Bars - FSA Wing Pro Compact
Pedals - Speedplay Zero
Saddle - Fizik Antares, soon to be swapped to all black edition

Pair of Lezyne Road Drive alloy cages in black on the way

Not weighed it yet. Any guesses?????

Only ridden it once, to commute in to work - can't go far as the chain is joined with a 10 speed quick link whilst I await delivery of a new one (since when did chains start coming with only 1 pin?? Thanks Shimano). Enjoyed it though, it's taken my measurements nicely, will want to work the spacers out in time, been wanting to get lower on the Synapse but stem was slammed already.

Not 100% happy with the bar angle, I think it needs tilting down a few degrees but was in a hurry last night so didn't get chance. Might do it at lunch, considering it's sat next to me in the office :)

Thoughts appreciated, good or bad.

Very nice - I love the silver colour scheme on these bikes!

I'm guessing 6300g for the weight!

I have no idea what's going on here.

Very nice, I love my R3. I fell out with Carbon and bought a Canyon Ultimate AL which I also really love and the two rides are like chalk and cheese. Not in a bad way, they just feel so different. Part of it will be due to angles, material, seat stays etc and such like even with the same equipment fitted. I've ridden all types of materials over the years from lots of different manufacturers but having these two in the stable, i've never experienced such a different ride between two frames.

I must be one of a select few who love this silver colourway. Definitely on my shortlist!

i think this is/was a really common failure with the R3.
    cervelo should replace this definitely.

i don't know why some companies insist on full carbon dropouts, specialized had the right idea with alu inserts to protect the area, but i think all thier top end bikes are full carbon drop-outs now also.

If you've attached the derailleur hanger yourself and not a certified mechanic then they could claim its your fault.

I should have added that Cervelo have agreed to replace it. They're sending a 2015 R3. They were very quick to agree too, the bike shop just sent the pic and the responded straight away to agree a replacement. Only problem is I have to wait till an unspecified date in June for it.

That's a bummer ...but ... Nice to know there's no arguing over a replacement.
I purchased the R2 (same frame) a little while back and love it. Way better than I'll ever need :D
Still thinking of something clever to say!

Getting very frustrated by Cervelo now. Originally said June, which came and went. Then said 18th July, but having just called the shop to ask them to confirm it they've found it's been put back to 3rd August.

I've now called Cervelo direct about it, nice guy in Germany told me the frame is stuck in customs. Along with the whole shipment it's part of. Says it will be a couple of weeks.

Nice to get an update, not 100% sure I believe it, being a cynical old fool

Am I right in thinking, so far I've adjusted nothing, that adjusting a fully carbonised frame and furniture, that it can damage the bars, stem, seatpost etc. if you overdo it?

I've never had full carbon everything before.

p.s. I didn't cheat on my guess. If you look at enough sizes, shapes and mixes while looking for the best buy/bargain, you then have a virtual computer in your head. Next year I won't even know what bike I own.
