Making a return to Morzine in a few weeks time for some fun on the slopes.
Made the switch to Shimano clipless last autumn from 5:10's. Love the planted feeling and more confident in the air.

Currently wearing a pair of Shimano XC30's on M540 pedals. Not the most expensive combo but does the job on the trails.
I don't really want to buy new pedals AND shoes.
So do you think the shoes will be up to the task if I was maybe to pair with a set of XT trail M785 pedals?
I have no love for Mallets so sticking with Shimano.

How come you hardly see guys (and girls) wearing the AM45 shoe anymore? Why have they got that's so much better?!

Cheers for your help

Loads of people use AM45's. Very popular with downhill racers.
XT pedals are certainly tough enough. Only you can decide if it's right for you.
I don't like Mallets either. Don't see the point of the platform and don't like the clips.
