Hi all,
I've managed to break my rear derailleur shifter on a cannondale badboy 2001. I'd like to buy a new shifter but seems like there's lots of models out there. The original shifter just says shimano deore mega drive train on it, no specific model number. According to bikepedia the shifters that came with this model are deore rapidfire SL. Most of the online shops deore shifters say SL but they also have a "M" followed by 3 numbers, "M310" for example which i assume is the specific model? Anyway basically i want to know if i can buy any 9 speed deore shifter and it will work ok? The rear derailleur just says XT on it.
Thanks!

Any shimano one will do of the same speed. So if you have 9 cogs on the back if is 9spd. (Front don't count for comparability)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
