Ultegra groupset, Fulcrum Racing Quattro wheels.

Still playing around a bit with the front end, she loves it though. It handles a bit like her Canyon but is more stable on descents and is stiffer so accelerates faster.

Yes, like I said, still playing around with the cockpit setup. Tilted the bars back slightly to give her the correct saddle to hood distance as per her bikefit, it really needs the bars untaping and the shifters moving back slightly but not going to do that until she's ridden it a bit.

Lovely looking bike. Just bought those bars for a foil I'm building. How's she finding them for comfort?

They seem to be fine, they're quite compact so suit smaller hands. Did a 100km ride today and everything was good, 1600m of climbing

Rode to Bakewell and back, called in at the L'eroica show and saw a lot of folk on old bikes, nice to see so many people out on bikes whatever age.

Definitely needs a more sleek saddle! Nice bike though :)

Womens saddles tend to be less sleek than men's, Selle Italia don't have a big women's range plus she finds this saddle to be perfect so can't see her changing any time soon.

She's loving riding it, probably a touch heavier than her Canyon but stiffer and faster overall.

  • Looks like v. nice bike!.

This is one of few places I found info in this bike (on-line). Apart from guardian review.

I'm amazed how little info De Rosa put out there. Weight/tyre clearance etc.
So it seems like it weighs a little more than Canyon ultimate Al, but could be a better ride?

Did you (or wife) further pimp it up, or leave as was?

    Cheers!

Great looking bike.. nice to see a complete lack of girly pink. Have to agree about the bars!
Why tidy the house when you can clean your bike?

You could also align the tyre decals with the valves... ;) How does she find the quattros? fancy a set for myself.

It doesn't have those tyres on any more but I'll make sure they're lined up when I swap them back. She likes the quattros, seem to roll well and she's faster on the flat, although the bike as a whole is more aero than her Canyon.

No, its standard spec. The Canyon is probably the best alloy framed bike you can buy, and very light. The wheels alone are probably 400g heavier on the De Rosa. The DR is slighly less twitchy on handling but overall its faster and nicer to ride, performs well in a monsoon as we found out at Ride London!

Just thought I'd see what it would look like with a pair of my 50mm wheels on it. I think it looks good, she's not having them though!

Not used them yet, waiting for the summer, just couldn't resist them in the Wiggle sale. They are very well made, like all Campag wheels.

Yes, although I wouldn't have paid full price for them, it was a good deal at £400 off rrp.
