Hey guys

I've got a job at a signage company, and the opportunity to repaint my bike for rather little money has presented itself. As it happens my 09 Allez has seen better days and is chipped and overall looking dated to me. However is it worth repainting it in another colour scheme as a refresh? It's my only bike for the moment but will remain a winter steed and hopefully crit machine in the coming years. Is it tacky for example to have it painted in a s works scheme? Either the s works Allez or Tarmac? Just an idea, or of course I could come up with something custom.

Thoughts.

Your bike you decide what it looks like, personally having the same colour scheme as say an s works is fine what would make me cringe is then adding s works logo's, there was an allez resprayed like an s works on ebay a few weeks ago but it had really large s works logo's all over it.....a step too far (in my view).

I'm more interested in the colours as apposed to the s works logo thing. The colour schemes on the s works frames are just real nice

The Allez is a decent enough frame ... why not repaint it - loads of us would love to have the chance to economically repaint ours ...

Pain it whatever colour you like. Just don't go writing SWORKS on it if it isn't.

I'd go for the S-Norks logos, so everyone does a double take before wandering off scratching their head....

    I'm thinking:

With just normal 'Specialized' in place of the S-Works, and some custom top tube stuff.

Go for it. I agree with not having S Works on it, that's as putting 'RS' on your standard Ford Focus. Personally I'd also have the Specialized in something darker than white so it blends in better - similar to how the 'tarmac' is on the top tube in that image.

Yeah good call on the darker, i might get my design on and see if i can get the colour right. Ive always spotted the colourway for the sworks Allez and that looks nice...As the tube shapes are more similar it might end up looking better, not sure.

I'd go for a specialised design but with different colours. I like grey at the moment so would probably go grey and red. Each to their own though.

I'm liking the colour of this -

£16k Limited edition S-Works Tarmac McLaren

Forgetting the pretentious price, I think the colours are great....
