Fitting SRAM Red hidden bolt 11 speed rings to SRAM S901

I was hoping to replace the 53/39 SRAM Red X-Glide R chainrings on my S901 chainset with 50/34s. I'm currently running 10 speed.
Ideally then I'd need 10 speed non-hidden bolt rings (I think).
If I was to replace them instead with 11 speed hidden bolt chainrings how many problems would that create?
For starters, I'm guessing the chain pin that stops the chain falling between the crank and rings would be in the wrong place. How big a deal is this?
Would the ramps etc still be in the right place?
Are there any differences between the 10 and 11 speed rings?
Many thanks for any advice as I'm struggling to find reliable info on this.

Is the price that good to justify the hassle?
Not interested in other rings (ie TA, FSA, etc?)Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Probably not but they seem quite hard to come by normally. I'd also need to get a 110 bcd spider from somewhere to use the smaller rings. Really I should just quit moaning and use the 53/39s!
I hadn't really looked into other brands but it would seem a bit of a shame as I have the nice yaw shifters and front derailleur all ready to go. I know a lot of people rate Praxis Works rings as well.0 -

How about just using the 53/39s and, if you're still finding it a PITA and can't get any other rings that you want for the front just changing the rear cassette?
That means that you get the gearing that you want and you still get to set fire to something.
Win win situation all round me thinks.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am
