    Bit of an update

    No sign of the bike, despite the Police arresting someone in connection with the theft. I've had around half the value of the bike back from my insurer, so lost around £800 in total.

    I'll continue to keep an eye out for it on forums/FB etc, but I'm not holding much hope that it will be found

    On the plus side I get my cast off later today after 6 long weeks

    God knows when ill be back on my bike

    Recovery starts today !

    I dont really see how an insurer can give you half the value (unless they think that is what its worth) - if you have a claim you have a claim no?

    Good luck on the recovery - my thumb is at 5 weeks but off road riding is not happening until after winter I dont think.

    That was the cap on bikes under home insurance

    Otherwise need specific bike insurance, but wouldn't have been covered on that either as the bike wasn't secured in the lockup

    Just bad luck

    I'm over it now

    The crash could have been way worse, and I have a new baby due in 3 weeks, so I've plenty to be thankful for (plus two bikes in the garage)
