650b trail bike

Looking at replacing my 26" full sus with a 27.5"/650b. have a few in mind but can anyone give me some advice?
The shortlist is as follows
1)Merida One Forty B-5

These are all in my £1000 to £1500 budget. Only ne I don't know that much about is the Ghost but I will be taking a demo on one in the next few weeks. Would appreciate any input.

I have a Marin East Peak 5.5 that feels a little to x/c and not enough a/m. I am asking more and more from it . I was thinking of fitting 140mm forks to it to help? 120mm at the moment. Has just returned from a warranty repair for a broken main pivot bolt and have been told that if it goes again I will have to have a remanufactured frame from Marin (they've already had to produce 300 replacement frames!).

I would take that 26" Canondale from Pauls Cycles over any of the bikes linked above.

They can be rebuilt, spares are available for them and some of the internals are standard Fox bits.
