Hi All
My sons Giant XTC Jr seems a good bike for him size wise, he's only 9 but the front forks Suntour XTC's are not so good, non adjustable as such and far to stiff for his weight, I have a friend who put his son on a small 26" and it was to big for him and it seemed to frighten him and spoil his riding.
I was wondering if I got him a 26" front fork, wheel and disc brake set up would it work on the bike, wouldn't be looking a big travel forks ( be like a chopper ), more something that I could set up better for his weight, any recommendations ??

presumably it's a 24" wheel? a 26" fork and wheel would, as you say, turn it into a chopper. Raise the BB, slacken the head angle etc. It won't be very fun to ride any more.0

take one of the springs out and see if that makes a difference.
you can fit an older 26 inch fork which has an equivalent A2C distance to be more like the 24 inch forks. downside is finding one.0
