  • Cheers guys.

Hopefully the rain will hold off so I can take it out after work :)
  • Updated picture with black lizard skins bar tape, black fizik antares saddle and speedplays. Happy with how it has turned out and no need to clean the bar tape after every ride now :D

Congratulations, great looking bike. Visually the black saddle and tape are a definite improvement.

If they bring out a CF SL with full Chorus in the non-Movistar colour scheme, I'll be very tempted (current ride is the Ultimate AL with Athena).

These Canyons look so much better now they have toned down the decals.

Yeah, 'tis nice.......good job. I prefer the black tape+saddle and its more practical. Only pro's can get away with gleaming white tape each ride!
Oh, I think your saddle aint level though?
  • Cheers :) Canyon should offer this option as an alternative, so much more practical and does look better. Just need some stealthy carbon rims and will be complete :)

johnny, saddle looks level to me, what do you think is the issue? Funnily enough went out last night and wasn't as comfortable as before I changed it, couldn't put my finger on what was up though.

I have the SL 9.0 in the same colour, I asked Canyon if I could have the black seat and bar tape combo from the Cyan model but couldnt. Black looks so much better, good job.

Mine got a black saddle as soon as I'd test ridden it. The Antares isn't the saddle for me, I put my existing black Specialised Romin Evo Expert saddle on. I was considering a change of bar tape soon. Might try Lizardskins DSP or Arundel Gecko in grey or black.
I still have the Antares sitting there doing nothing. Must see if I can get a few quid for it!
  • Now with Reyonolds Assault SLG wheels. Now just need to wait for a dry day :D

Looks amazing. Got a Canyon CF as well, with some Reynolds ready to go on next Spring.

Love to hear your review of the Assaults with some miles under your belt.

    Enjoy !

I ordered my Ultimate CF SL frame back in October.Delivery date....week 12 2015
Not fussed as I wouldn't have ridden it through the winter anyway. My mate has the 2013 model, lovely looking bikes 8)
  • Lovely bike! Thinking about pulling the trigger on the same model, same size. We are about the same height-I shade closer to 5'7"...i'm thinking the 90mm stem specified with the S would be about right? It also doesn't look like you have significant drop from seat to bar-which I would also prefer. Thoughts?
    Thanks!
  • Yes I think the small would be right for your height. The rest is all up to your specific measurements. The current set up suits me but could slam the stem and still be comfy I think, will probably try it out next year.

So how is the bike with the high profile wheelset? Can you show more pictures?
  • So, finally had a dry enough day so took the Canyon out on the Reynolds.

Really impressed with them, did 50 miles with nearly 4000ft so wasn't a test of their speed but they are definitely faster, held 19-20 on the flat without pushing too hard, they seem to maintain speed a lot easier than the Kysirums (spelling) I had on previously. Accelerating out of the saddle I noticed a huge difference, spun up extremely fast and responded instantly.

Climbing there was little difference I feel but again on the descents they held speed really well and coped with some crosswinds without drama.

    Bloody noisy braking though!

Hi man, nice bike. I'm 5'6 height. My saddle height to BB is 69 cm. I thinking in trying the size S. You think I can fit well? What is your saddle height until BB? how you feel the ride with current set up?
