Boxxer 04 springs and damper help!

I Weigh 76kg with riding gear on and my boxxers currently have a yellow spring in the right if I remember correctly with a metal spacer about an inch long on the top then the screw top cap the other side has a silver spring with no spacer but is much harder to compress than the yellow one although it has a very small amount of yellow on it.

So my question is the yellow spring suppose to have that inch of metal spacer and if I get a white spring or two silver for my weight will I need a spacer for the other side as well?

How do you alter the damper on these as it feels as if it virtually has non?

    Probably just a preload spacer.
    If the damper still works the knob on top of the fork leg is compression damping, on the bottom is rebound. If the dampers still work.....

    there is no knobs on the 04 boxxer's so its an internal adjustment I assume? If the spacer wasn't there then there will be a gap between the spring and the top cap so be about a few cm of movement if that was the case so seems like it needs it there? it does preload it but only by maybe 1cm

    With modern versions you can remove preload spacers. Thing were very different 10 years ago.
