Bladed spoke holders

Assuming I actually use one and don't bodge with pliers or whatever (is there a viable bodge?) are these much of a muchness or is any one better than the others for convenience? There seems to be a variety of shapes and sizes that's all. I'll be using it with a Spokey spoke wrench, I read that you need to hold the spoke (CX Rays in my case) as close to the nipple as possible, just wondering whether the body of the wrench will get in the way...?

Any help/thoughts appreciated :-)

I use a peice of wood with a slot sawn into it.

The wrench will get in the way a little, but the spoke holder will still work. For the last wheels I built, I used nipples with a hex head so I could use an appropriate wrench from inside the rim instead, allowing me to hold the spokes right next to the nipples.

If you have a bit of ally and a some old feeler gauges, you can make it out of that.
