Pricing up the bits to convert my commencal meta am1 to sram x01 11 speed, all looks straightforward except for the freehub requirements (and the price  )
Apparently I will need a xd freehub. Are these universal or made to suit particular hubs? The bike has an own branded hub at currently. Is it likely an xd freehub will plop straight on?

You will need a specific XD version for your hub.
    A Flock of Birds
    + some other bikes.

He's right, and you may not be able to actually get one...

Indeed this was my worry. I dont want to go to the extra hassle & expense of changing the hubs or wheels on top of an already expensive exercise.
Actually I purchased the hope 40t t-rex chainring today, so will see how that goes initially with the single ring up front.

Don't bother with xo1. Get the cheaper x1 instead. £450 + xd driver on crc
